Children’s & Family Ministries
At First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, we partner with families to help children grow in faith and experience God’s love.
Each week, children are welcomed into a safe, caring, and engaging environment where they can explore Bible stories, ask questions, and connect their faith to everyday life. Through age-appropriate teaching, hands-on activities, and meaningful relationships, we help children experience God’s love in ways they can understand.
We believe children are an important part of our church family, and we are committed to creating a space where every child feels known, valued, and excited to be here.

Sunday School
During Worship (11:15 AM)
Ages 4 and up
Nursery care available for younger children
Children are invited to participate in Sunday School during worship, where they’ll explore Bible stories, build friendships, and grow in faith through engaging, age-appropriate activities.
Vacation Bible School
July 12 – August 30
Sundays during worship
This summer, children are invited to a special Sunday morning VBS experience from July 12 through August 30. Following Children’s Time, they’ll take part in a fun, sports-themed program called “Ready, Set, Go!” Each week combines play and faith, centered on Philippians 4:13.

This Month in Children’s Ministry
This month, our Children’s Ministry is exploring the theme of
bravery—learning what it means to trust God, step out in faith, and share our gifts with courage.
Our verse for the month is:
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
As we prepare for
Youth Sunday on June 28, our children and youth are putting that bravery into action through handbell practice, Bible verse recitations, and other opportunities to participate in worship. We look forward to celebrating scholarship recipients and recognizing the many ways our young people are growing in faith and sharing their gifts with our church community.

Upcoming Special Moments & Activities
Youth Sunday Handbells
Children will begin practicing handbells in May as they prepare for our Youth Sunday service on
June 28.
This is a fun opportunity for children to share their gifts and be part of worship.
Faith & Family Night at the Ballpark
Calling all baseball fans! Join First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston for Faith & Family Night with the Niagara Falls Americans on
Saturday, July 18 at 6:35 PM at Sal Maglie Stadium.
This fun-filled evening is a great opportunity for families, friends, and baseball enthusiasts of all ages to connect and enjoy a night at the ballpark.
First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston will be recognized throughout the game, and special discounted
tickets are available for just $5 each.
There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex, and all ticket payments are due by Sunday, July 12.

Ready, Set, Go! VBS
Beginning
July 12, children will kick off our special Sunday morning VBS series, Ready, Set, Go! Running through August 30, this fun, sports-themed program will combine games, activities, and faith-filled lessons during Sunday School each week. Check out our summer

Summer 2026 Family Book Club
Join us as we read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. Together, we’ll explore this beloved story of Narnia and reflect on themes of faith, courage, and redemption as a church family.
As children journey alongside Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, they will encounter a world where good and evil are clearly seen, where choices matter, and where hope is restored through the love and sacrifice of Aslan. Through this story, we can begin to understand deeper truths about God’s love, forgiveness, and the promise of new life in ways that are meaningful and accessible for children.
This summer, we invite families to read together, talk together, and grow together in faith as we discover how this classic story helps us see God’s truth in a new and meaningful way.
